25 Years of Durst Group Branch in Lienz: A Success Story

The 25th-anniversary celebrations include a special exhibition of group portraits and street banners by the renowned South Tyrolean artist Klaus Pobitzer. This exhibition is a continuation of the successful “Inside-Out” project previously implemented in Brixen, South Tyrol. Pobitzer’s artworks, which will be displayed both in the city of Lienz and on the premises of Durst Austria, feature large-format individual and group portraits as well as technical details of the manufactured printing systems.

Durst Austria – The Durst Group in East Tyrol

Headquartered in Brixen, South Tyrol, the Durst Group comprises over 20 subsidiaries and joint ventures worldwide. Since its establishment, the branch in Lienz has developed into an important production site for digital inkjet printing systems. Over the years, the site has been continuously expanded and modernized. A significant milestone was the construction of the research center in the form of a “mountain crystal” in 2009, which is one of the world’s leading laboratories for inkjet printing technology.

Durst Group Celebrates 1,000th Customer for Durst Workflow Software

Forge Graphics, renowned for its innovative and high-quality graphic solutions, joins a distinguished list of customers benefiting from Durst Workflow’s advanced capabilities.

Based in Portland, Oregon, Forge Graphic Works is a team of design and print experts specializing in large format printing and graphic manufacturing, installation, and fulfillment services for retail, events, interiors, and experiential marketing programs. The company operates as a hybrid of design agency, printer, and fabrication shop, focusing on quality and long-term relationships by designing with efficiency in mind from the start.

Previously utilizing a third party RIP, Forge Graphic Works found the process labor-intensive with limited automation, often leading to errors.
Todd Ebersole, Strategy Director of Forge Graphics explains. “We wanted a more advanced workflow solution with integration in other parts of our business like scheduling, pricing, and automation of common tasks that save us time and prevent re-work.”

At the Printing United trade show, they discovered Durst Workflow and Durst Lift ERP. Impressed by a vendor partner’s success with these solutions, Forge Graphic Works was particularly drawn to the vertical integration with Lift ERP and key modules within Durst Workflow, such as Verification, Impose Editor, and PDF Proof Approval.
Configurable as all-in-one solution integrated with Lift ERP, Durst Workflow resulted particularly attractive, providing a single point of contact for implementation, training, and troubleshooting.

Forge Graphic Works operates several printing system from different vendors, all of which will be driven by Durst Workflow. The new software system, combining Durst Workflow and Durst Lift ERP, will allow them to efficiently and visually plan jobs and production schedules, make quick adjustments to maximize throughput and minimize downtime, and provide detailed analysis of the impact of rush jobs or shifts in customer deadlines. Additionally, real-time feedback on job costing on a per-project level will reduce purchasing labor, ensuring materials and special-order items are sourced quickly and efficiently.

Durst RSCi hybrid for DGS Baski Teknolojileri A.S.

Production of Printed-Non-Printed/Adhesive-Non-Adhesive Roll Label is done with flexo printing systems.
Recently DGS decided to add to their printing machines fleet a Hybrid printing solution: UV inkjet digital press Durst Tau RSCi 340. The press is full of options plus one flexo unit before UV printing.

During last Labelexpo, the presentation of the new digital inkjet RSCi 340/420/510 mm with jumbo rolls advanced the digital inkjet production even further. WIDER, BETTER and FASTER for the RSCi to reach the top digital speed of 100m/min in widths of up to half a meter and produce up to 3.000 sqm / hour !

Designed for customers seeking a competitive advantage in such challenging times, with a smooth web path for less material waste and a small footprint to fit in production environments.

Durst introduced a hybrid configuration with one flexo UV unit for primer or white and one flexo unit for varnish. The focus of this configuration is high volume production of quality labels without loss of speed, prime more economic materials or give customers the possibility to print white under or other colors online in flexo.

With a choice of maximum print width between 340mm/420mm/510mm and high quality 1200 x 1200 dpi inkjet print heads and the fastest (up to 100m / min) digital UV inkjet up to eight- color (w-ovg-cmyk) printer TAU RSCi is from Durst, a leading manufacturer of advanced digital inkjet machines.

The new advanced Durst Workflow Label workflow software is browser based for multiple users to communicate online and update management, sales, production for customer orders and customer service. It has the ability to manage, change and modify different client files and also pre-cost print jobs for cost-effective bids and print options between TAU RSC digital and conventional machines.

Durst Graphics News – Ready to print with P5 SMP

Durst and OMET announce KJet to be launched at Drupa

Durst has announced the next stage of the relationship with OMET – the KJet – will be launched at drupa.

The launch of the KJet follows an announcement at Labelexpo in Brussels extending the hybrid development partnership between the two organisations beyond the XJet platform.

“The current XJet platform, which has been the leading hybrid solution in the market with multiple installations worldwide, will be further improved and expanded,” both companies said at the time.

Durst sales director for labels and packaging, Thomas Macina, revealed the KJet will be the next product to be launched from the OMET partnership.

“The combination of digital with flexo offers an innovative hybrid solution that maximises productivity and flexibility, enabling printers to select between flexo or digital printing, thereby optimising efficiency and reducing costs while meeting evolving market demands such as personalisation and just-in-time deliveries in a single-pass,” Macina said.

“We have been leading the inkjet label printing market for many years and we provide solutions for all label converters around the world, starting with entry level solutions up to industrial needs with 100 metres per minute and 510 millimetres wide,” Macina said.

“We have been observing a clear market trend towards end to end production and this is why we have reinforced our partnership with OMET. At drupa, you will see we are launching a new machine – the KJet – which is the perfect combination of a dual-servo cylinder based flexo unit combined with the robustness, efficiency and productivity of the Durst RSCi digital print engine. This provides a new experience to operators in terms of simplicity, minimal set-up time and low waste.

 

Durst Oceania managing director, Matt Ashman, said he is looking forward to showing Australian and New Zealand converters the latest developments from the hybrid strategy at drupa.
