Wagner Prestige Labels reduces waste and ramps up capacity with Durst Tau 330 RSC E investment

Durst, manufacturer of advanced digital printing and production technologies, has solved waste and digital capacity issues for family business Wagner Prestige Labels with the installation of a Tau 330 RSC E inkjet label production press.

Wagner’s choice of Durst’s RSC technology was driven by speed, quality and environmental considerations. “We decided to ramp up digital color capacity to the highest we could, and the Durst Tau 330 RSC E came up trumps,” said John Galea, Managing Director of Wagner Prestige Labels, of Wetherill Park, Sydney, Australia. “In only six months it has really proved itself, to the point that digital is now between 30 and 35% of our business. The quality of the labels is right up there with flexo and letterpress.

“Another important benefit is that waste is greatly reduced, with the threaded meterage on the Durst Tau 330 RSC E even being able to be drawn back and printed. Waste is a big issue for label printers, especially with multiple versions, so anything we can do to reduce it is good for the environment.”

The Durst Tau 330 RSC E is the beating heart of Wagner Prestige Labels’ one-stop solutions business, which has diversified into new areas and is also part of the JV Group that brings together label, printing and embroidery companies to provide customers with a complete promotional service. Web inspection devices and processes including flexo, letterpress, screen, thermal paper, hot and cold foiling, die-cutting, laminating and, elsewhere within JV Group, dye-sublimation and embroidery for textiles plus general commercial printing.

“We do everything in-house, and, if a customer wants a fully-embellished label with embossing, foiling, spot varnishing, fancy die-cutting, we have the equipment to do it,” said Mr. Galea. “You have to keep up with changes – change enables growth and diversity, but you also have to make sure the right job goes on the right machine. Before the investment in Durst’s RSC technology we were falling short on digital capacity. Our customers – trade, print brokers and end-user – are tending to order shorter runs, more frequently, so we carefully researched all the available options. The Durst has proved to be the ideal choice.”

Με την μονάδα Digital Printing (που είχαμε ήδη δημιουργήσει) με τεχνικό εξοπλισμό υψηλών δυνατοτήτων (μεταξύ άλλων plotter ενιαίας εκτύπωσης 5 μέτρων) αλλά και το έμπειρο ανθρώπινο δυναμικό μας, προσφέραμε ήδη εκτυπώσεις στην αγορά του Large Format Printing για Διαφημιστικές Κατασκευές, Γιγαντοαφίσες, Αρχιτεκτονικές Κατασκευές, Κάλυψη Εκθεσιακών Χώρων, Επιγραφές, Πανό, Ταπετσαρίες, Γραφικά Δαπέδων, Banners, Stands, Posters, Διακόσμηση Επαγγελματικών Χώρων, Εκθεσιακά περίπτερα, κλπ..

Στη συνέχεια των παραπάνω και ανταποκρινόμενοι στην ολοένα μεγαλύτερη σχετική ζήτηση από το πελατολόγιο μας, αναζητήσαμε εξοπλισμό υψηλής τεχνολογίας που θα μας διευκόλυνε και σε άλλους τομείς και θα εμπλούτιζε περαιτέρω τις δραστηριότητές μας στον κλάδο των Γραφικών Τεχνών και της Συσκευασίας, αναπτύσσοντας ακόμη περισσότερο τον τομέα της Ψηφιακής Εκτύπωσης σε διαφορετικά υλικά όπως χαρτί, χαρτόνι, Kappa Fix, Kappa Line, Foamex, Forex, Plexiglas, ξύλο κλπ.

Καταλήξαμε λοιπόν, χωρίς μεγάλη δυσκολία, στην κορυφαία φίρμα Durst και στον Durst Rho P10 200, που έχει 6 χρώματα και λευκό, μεγάλη ταχύτητα και υψηλή ποιότητα παραγωγής.

Πλέον, εκτελούμε πρωτότυπες κατασκευές, με διαφορετικά υλικά (χαρτόνι και plexiglas, χαρτόνι- καθρέφτη και ξύλο, kappa- ξύλο και etalbond αλλά και οτιδήποτε άλλο μας ζητήσει ο πελάτης) παρέχοντας πρωτοποριακές προτάσεις και λύσεις. Κατ’ αυτόν τον τρόπο διεισδύουμε σε αγορές που δεν δραστηριοποιούμαστε έως τώρα και λόγω της μοναδικότητας αυτών των προϊόντων ο ανταγωνισμός είναι πιο ήπιος. Βεβαίως, δεν πρέπει να παραλείψω να πω, ότι καλύψαμε και το κενό που υπήρχε στην εταιρία μας στην παραγωγή μικρών ποσοτήτων χάρτινων stands και displays (τα μεγάλα τιράζ τα καλύπτουμε παραδοσιακά με τη μέθοδο offset). Επιπροσθέτως, επειδή η εταιρία μας έχει επενδύσει τα τελευταία χρόνια σε μηχανολογικό εξοπλισμό για το luxury packaging και τα rigid boxes, η Durst Rho P10 200 μας άνοιξε το δρόμο για την προσωποποίηση μικρών παραγωγών κουτιών (μια μεγάλη ανάγκη της σημερινής αγοράς).

Κλείνοντας θα έλεγα : «Οι ικανότατοι και έμπειροι χειριστές μας στο LFP (Large Format Printing ), απέκτησαν ένα καταπληκτικό και απόλυτα αξιόπιστο εργαλείο, για να υλοποιούν τις λειτουργικές αλλά και καινοτόμες ιδέες των «προχωρημένων» σχεδιαστών μας» !

Ο UV inkjet Rho P10 200 είναι επίπεδος εκτυπωτής για άκαμπτα φύλλα. Προαιρετικά εκτυπώνει και σε εύκαμπτα υλικά σε ρολό. Είναι εξοπλισμένος με κεφαλές της Durst με τεχνολογία Quadro Array με μέγεθος σταγόνας 10 πικολίτρα (pl) και αποδίδει εξαιρετική ποιότητα εκτύπωσης με την τεχνολογία Variodrop και με ταυτόχρονο υψηλό επίπεδο παραγωγικότητας. Η μέγιστη ταχύτητα εκτύπωσης φτάνει έως τα 205 τετρ. μέτρα την ώρα με ανάλυση εκτύπωσης τα 1000 dpi, η οποία δύναται με την προσθήκη του Fine Art Mode Option να φτάσει έως και στα 1200 dpi. Η τελευταία επιλογή είναι ιδανική για premium backlit luxury goods και για εκτυπώσεις υψηλής ποιότητας.

Επίσης με την προαιρετική επιλογή Hapt Print Option επιτρέπει να δημιουργηθούν «ανάγλυφες» εκτυπώσεις σε άκαμπτες επιφάνειες, αλλά και να δημιουργηθούν νέες εφαρμογές, όπως η γραφή Braille ή η αναπαραγωγή πινάκων ζωγραφικής με προσομοίωση ελαιογραφίας σε μία διαδικασία της ψηφιακής εκτύπωσης με στόχο αγορές όπως μουσεία, εκθέσεις κλπ.

Τα UV μελάνια της Durst είναι φιλικά προς το περιβάλλον, σύμφωνα με τις Ευρωπαϊκές Οδηγίες και έχουν άψογη πρόσφυση σε πάρα πολλά υλικά. Τα εκτυπωμένα υλικά είναι ανακυκλώσιμα.

Ο εκτυπωτής συνδυάζει συμπαγή, στιβαρή βιομηχανική σχεδίαση με αποτελεσματικότητα της παραγωγής και αξιοπιστία στην λειτουργία, καθιστώντας τον Rho P10 200 ένα πραγματικά βιομηχανικό εκτυπωτή, με αδιάκοπη ουσιαστικά παραγωγή.

Ο εκτυπωτής δέχεται, πέραν των βασικών cmyk χρωμάτων, και ανοιχτά χρώματα (light cyan και light magenta) ή πρόσθετα χρώματα (πορτοκαλί και μωβ) καθώς και λευκό. Η χρήση των πρόσθετων Process Colors δεν ελαττώνει την ταχύτητα παραγωγής.

Ο εκτυπωτής εκτυπώνει σε μεγάλη ποικιλία μη επιστρωμένων και επιστρωμένων υλικών – όπως φύλλα από σκληρά και μαλακά αφρώδη υλικά, φύλλα αλουμινίου, ακρυλικά, χαρτονιού, κλπ. με πάχος μέχρι 4 εκατοστά και προαιρετικά τα 7 εκατοστά πάχος.

Και βέβαια τυπώνει και σε εύκαμπτα υλικά σε ρολά. Προαιρετικά μπορεί να εκτυπώσει και ρολά μεγάλου βάρους μέχρι 200 κιλά και διάμετρο μέχρι 30 εκατοστά.

Τέλος για την εκτύπωση φύλλων χαρτονιού υψηλής ποιότητας ο εκτυπωτής δέχεται προαιρετικά ειδική μονάδα εκτύπωσης κυματοειδών υλικών (χαρτονιών)- corrugated option που διαθέτει ειδικούς οδηγούς μεταφοράς και συγκράτησης των υλικών και ισχυρότερο vacuum για εκτύπωση.

Ο εκτυπωτής Durst Rho P10 200 στον οποίο επένδυσε η εταιρεία Λυχνία έχει την εξής σύνθεση: 6 χρώματα (cmyk + light cyan + light magenta) και λευκό, και επιπλέον την μονάδα εκτύπωσης βαρέων ρολών (Heavy Duty Roll) μέχρι 200 κιλά καθώς την μονάδα εκτύπωσης χαρτονιών (corrugated option).

2nd Durst RSC-E LM for Haitoglou S.A.

The food industry group and its printing company Haitoglou SA from Thessaloniki has made a new investment in digital label printing.

During 2018, Haitoglou SA Graphic Arts had invested in the Durst Tau 330LM UV inkjet label and packaging printer and two years later decided to invest in the new Durst Tau RSC E 330LM with Durst Workflow software.

At the company’s premises in Kalochori Thessaloniki, an area of 2,500 sq.m. are housed all departments involved in the production process. In 2018, in the context of modernizing its equipment, Haitoglou SA Graphic Arts launched a new digital printing department in a new building.

Today it is a fully integrated unit where excellent and direct collaboration between pre-printing, production and other departments enables the offer of high quality services, from first contact with the customer and after delivery of the finished product.

Mrs. Denise Haitoglou, owner of the company, stated for the new investment: “At Labelexpo 2019 exhibition we saw the new expanded capabilities of the Durst Tau RSC E 330LM printer and decided it was the right technology for the development of our production.”

The Durst Tau RSC E 330LM label printing system was first introduced at the Labelexpo 2019 exhibition in Brussels, where it operated all the time with the new improved Low Migration UV inks, attracting the attention of the visitors.

The Durst Tau 330 RSC E UV inkjet system combines industrial productivity with unparalleled print quality and efficiency. The press uses state-of-the-art Durst RSC technology. The 1200 x 1200 dpi printhead resolution combined with the smaller 2pl drop size delivers photographic-like print quality, delivering a 1-point fine print. With a high printing speed of 52 m / min the production capacity can reach 1020 m / h. In addition, white can be used at full speed of 52m/min.

Regarding the software the printer is equipped with new Durst software solutions included in all Tau printers: The Durst Workflow Label, complete end-to-end workflow software and the Monitoring Tool: Durst Analytics. Production data can feed into the customer’s MIS / ERP system, and can be fed to the online ordering system (Durst Smart Shop) creating a complete and efficient software system – the Durst Software Ecosystem.

The Tau RSC 330LM prints with Tau LM (Low Migration) inks with low migration and low odor. These inks are specifically and carefully designed for printing on primary food packaging. They can be used for food labels, cosmetics, blister packs, and special packaging such as aluminum lids or small paper boxes.

Inks are approved for food packaging in accordance with the guidelines of the EuPIA and the Swiss Ordinance regulations. Low migration Tau inks do not contain substances that are expressly excluded from the Nestlé Ink Specification. The inks have been tested and declared as compliant with Nestle Certificate by independent test institutes.

For applications with low migration inks on film, such as blisters, aluminum film, aluminum lids or heat-sensitive printing materials, there is an optional cooling unit that reduces the temperature of the printed films for inks hardening.

To meet the demands of the food and drug industries, which require odorless printing, an optional inert gas system eliminates odor from UV inkjet inks.

Inks are available in the following colors: Basic CMYK, Orange and White and will soon be added Blue.

Inks can be used in a large number of substrates: Coated and uncoated, supported and unsupported substrates, paper, white and transparent film, PP, PE, PVC, PET, BOPP, aluminum foil.

The Label Makers Wins 2 Times With Diablesse Label Solution

A complicated illustration for rum brand, Diablesse, has been faithfully interpreted through embellishment and print by leading label manufacturers, The Label Makers. The result is a stunning standout pack that has won both the ‘Label of the Year’ at the recent UK Packaging Awards and the ‘Special Effects in Labels and Packaging” category in the Digital Printer Awards 2019.

The rum is produced by independent Manchester distillers, Farman & Son, and comprises two expressions – Diablesse Caribbean Rum and Diablesse Clementine Spiced Rum. The label, designed by Leeds-based creative agency, Made by Analogue, tells the story of the ‘Diablesse’, a temptress from Caribbean folklore that appears beautiful and seductive, but beneath the beauty lies a dark and devilish woman who captures the hearts and spirit of her unsuspecting would-be lovers.

In keeping with the mythology, the brief for the label was to lure and seduce the consumer into a world of mystery and intrigue, where there is no other option than to pick it up and take a sip. Her character is brought to life through a rich illustrative approach and punctuated with an indulgent use of luxury gold foil to represent the depth of blend in the rum itself.

Printed with great attention to detail, the label captures the fine intricacies of the illustration and is complimented by overlays of embossed matt-gold foiling and remarkable detailing. The Label Makers used Fasson Matt Wine FSC material in the process, digitally printed in 8 colours then hot foiled with a sculptured die and further embellished with subtle blind embossing.

“The Label Makers did a wonderful job in bringing the label from design to life and, from my initial vision, they completely fulfilled what I hoped could be achieved. The project took significant time and attention to get right, not surprisingly with certain embellishment challenges such as the foil blocking and coverage required. I am blown away by the finished label and will not hesitate to work with The Label Makers on my next venture,” said founder, Cleo Farman.

David Webster, managing director of The Label Makers, added: “The purpose of the label was to tell the brand’s story and create an intimate interaction with consumers. Wagner Labels makes “substantial investment” in Durst solutions

Aussie labelling company, Wagner Labels, has purchased the Durst Tau 330 RSC E and its converting equipment in a “substantial investment” worth well over $1 million.

The investment makes Wagner Labels a new customer for Durst and is the first Tau RSC E installation in Australasia.

Durst Pacific labels and package printing sales manager Paul Sanelli told Sprinter that Wagner Labels made this “substantial investment” in converting equipment, flexo and digital press to improve its business operations.

“The main agenda for Wagner Labels was to increase the capacity of its digital offering and to expand into new markets,” he said.

“For us, as a company, it means that we’ve secured another important client – someone that is established and has been in business for more than 80 years. From a Durst perspective, we know that he’s thorough in his assessment of solutions in the market but chose the Tau as the product to take his business to the next level.

“It’s also an acknowledgement by a well-respected label house that Durst’s pre-sales, sales and post-sales structure has met the requirements of the business.”

Sanelli also mentioned that the Tau is a fully scalable system, enabling Wagner Labels to upgrade the solution in width, colours and speed without a forklift.

“So, for on the field upgrades, if they have a capacity issue, they can upgrade the Tau instead of running a second shift or having to purchase a separate unit. They’ll get a 40 per cent productivity increase just by scaling the system,” he said.

Wagner Labels managing director John Galea said the features of the Tau impressed him and was the reason behind the purchase.

“We were looking for speed and quality, and we felt that with the options out there that the Tau provided the best solution. Its resolution – 1200 by 1200 dpi – is probably one of the best in the market now,” he said.

“We have been dominating as a label printer and have been looking into moving into the packaging space, so the Tau gears us up for that space. The purchase was for expansion, not replacement, so it complements the other solutions that we use.”

Για να συνεχίσει την ταχύτατη εξυπηρέτηση των πελατών της πρόσφατα η GS Labelprint πρόσφατα προχώρησε σε επένδυση μιας λύσης για φινίρισμα ετικετών σε ρολό, της μηχανής DC330 MINIflex της εταιρείας Grafisk Maskinfabrik (GM) από την Δανία.

H DC330 MINIflex είναι μηχανή φινιρίσματος ετικετών ρολού με μικρό όγκο και πλήρη χαρακτηριστικά. Γρήγορη, ευέλικτη και ταυτόχρονα οικονομική γραμμή φινιρίσματος με τις έξυπνες βασικές επιλογές, όπως ο σταθμός αυτόματης ρολοκοπής της GM και η ημιαυτόματη εναλλαγή στην ανατύλιξη ρολών ετικετών.

Η MINIflex είναι έτοιμη για λειτουργία είτε ως ανεξάρτητη είτε σε σειρά (in-line) με όλα τα μεγάλα ψηφιακά πιεστήρια.

Η DC330MINIflex έχει όλα όσα χρειάζεστε για να τελειοποιήσετε ετικέτες. Βερνίκι, ημι-περιστροφική κοπή ετικετών, σχίσιμο ρολού και διπλή επανατύλιξη. Προαιρετικά τοπικό βερνίκι, ψυχρή θερμοτυπία, πλαστικοποίηση, ενδιάμεση σύνδεση, κορώνα, καθαρισμό ρολού, οπίσθια κοπή περιθωρίων, ρολοσχιστικά μαχαίρια και άλλα. Όταν χρησιμοποιείται μαζί με ένα ψηφιακό πιεστήριο ετικετών, αυτή η πρωτοποριακή μονάδα παρέχει στους επαγγελματίες εκτυπωτές ετικετών μια πλήρη και ευπροσάρμοστη λύση για ψηφιακή εκτύπωση μεγάλου όγκου.

Η “The Label Makers” ΚΕΡΔΙΣΕ ΔΥΟ ΦΟΡΕΣ ΜΕ ΤΗΝ ΛΥΣΗ “Diablesse” ΓΙΑ ΕΤΙΚΕΤΑ

Μια περίπλοκη εικονογράφηση για το επώνυμο ρούμι Diablesse αποδόθηκε πιστά μέσω εξωραϊσμού και εκτύπωσης από ένα κορυφαίο κατασκευαστή ετικετών, την εταιρεία The Label Makers. Το αποτέλεσμα είναι μία εντυπωσιακή ξεχωριστή συσκευασία που βραβεύτηκε τόσο ως «Ετικέτα της χρονιάς» στα πρόσφατα Βραβεία Συσκευασίας του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου όσο και στην κατηγορία «Ειδικά εφέ σε ετικέτες και συσκευασίες» στα Βραβεία Digital Printer Awards 2019.

Το ρούμι παράγεται από το ανεξάρτητο αποστακτήριο του Manchester, την εταιρεία Farman & Son, και περιλαμβάνει δύο εκφράσεις – το Diablesse Caribbean Rum και το Diablesse Clementine Spiced Rum. Η ετικέτα, που σχεδιάστηκε από το διαφημιστικό γραφείο του Leeds «Made by Analogue», αναφέρει την ιστορία του «Diablesse», ενός πειρασμού από την λαϊκή τέχνη της Καραϊβικής που φαίνεται όμορφη και σαγηνευτική, αλλά κάτω από την ομορφιά βρίσκεται μια σκοτεινή και διαβολική γυναίκα που αιχμαλωτίζει τις καρδιές και το πνεύμα των ανυποψίαστων εραστών της.

Σύμφωνα με τη μυθολογία, η οδηγία για την ετικέτα ήταν να προσελκύσει και να παρασύρει τον καταναλωτή σε έναν κόσμο μυστηρίου και ίντριγκας, όπου δεν υπάρχει άλλη επιλογή από το να αγοράσει το ρούμι και να πιεί μια γουλιά. Ο χαρακτήρας της έρχεται στη ζωή μέσω μιας πλούσιας επεξηγηματικής προσέγγισης και τονίζεται με μια επιμελή χρήση πολυτελών χρυσών φύλλων για να αντιπροσωπεύει το βάθος του μείγματος στο ίδιο το ρούμι.

Εκτυπωμένη με μεγάλη προσοχή στη λεπτομέρεια, η ετικέτα καταγράφει τις ιδιαίτερες πολυπλοκότητες της εικονογράφησης και συμπληρώνεται από τις επικαλύψεις των ανάγλυφων ματ-χρυσών μεμβρανών και των αξιόλογων λεπτομερειών. Η The Label Makers χρησιμοποίησε το υλικό FSC Fasson Matt Wine FSC, εκτυπώνοντας ψηφιακά με 8 χρώματα στο Durst Tau RSC και στη συνέχεια εφάρμοσε θερμή χρυσοτυπία με μια πολυεπίπεδη ορειχάλκινη μήτρα και διακόσμησε την ετικέτα περαιτέρω με λεπτή αναγλυφοτυπία.

«Οι The Label Makers έκαναν μια θαυμάσια δουλειά για να φέρουν την ετικέτα από το σχεδιασμό στη ζωή και από το αρχικό όραμά μου εκπλήρωσαν πλήρως αυτό που ήλπιζα ότι θα μπορούσε να επιτευχθεί. Για το έργο χρειάστηκε αρκετός χρόνος καθώς και προσοχή ώστε να ολοκληρωθεί σωστά. Αυτό δεν εκπλήσσει με ορισμένες προκλήσεις εξωραϊσμού, όπως την υψηλής ποιότητας θερμοτυπία και την κάλυψη που απαιτήθηκε. Έχω εντυπωσιαστεί από την τελική ετικέτα και δεν θα διστάσω να συνεργαστώ με την The Label Makers για την επόμενη δουλειά μου», δήλωσε ο ιδρυτής Cleo Farman.

Ο David Webster, διευθύνων σύμβουλος της The Label Makers, πρόσθεσε: «Σκοπός της ετικέτας ήταν να πει την ιστορία της μάρκας και να δημιουργήσει μια στενή αλληλεπίδραση με τους καταναλωτές. Αυτό επιτεύχθηκε μέσω της επιμελούς αναπαραγωγής των ιδιαίτερων λεπτομερειών της απεικόνισης και της ελεύθερης χρήσης του ματ χρυσού, για να συλλάβει την ουσία της ίντριγκας και του μυστηρίου. Είμαστε ευχαριστημένοι με τον τρόπο με τον οποίο η ετικέτα έχει γίνει αποδεκτή μέχρι σήμερα.

Η Grafisk Maskinfabrik, κοινώς γνωστή ως GM, παρέχει λύσεις φινιρίσματος για τη βιομηχανία ετικετών για τέσσερις δεκαετίες. Η GM παρέχει προηγμένες λύσεις φινιρίσματος για τη βιομηχανία αυτοκόλλητων ετικετών. Η GM κατασκευάζει και σχεδιάζει μια μεγάλη σειρά μηχανών, που περιλαμβάνουν πλήρεις γραμμές τελειοποίησης, κοπής λέιζερ, κοπτικών με καλούπια, θερμοτυπίας, μεταξοτυπίας, πλαστικοποιητών, ρολοκοπής με επανατύλιξη, συστημάτων ανύψωσης ρολών, μηχανών κοπής φύλλων και κάθετης κοπής ρολών σε μικρότερα ρολά.

Το βασικό προϊόν και η ναυαρχίδα της εταιρείας είναι η πλατφόρμα DC, ένα σύστημα φινιρίσματος που διατίθεται σε τέσσερα μεγέθη, με τεράστιο αριθμό επιλογών και μπορεί να λειτουργεί είτε σε σειρά είτε offline με το πιεστήριο της επιλογής σας.
