Bressanone, Italy – 18.05.2021 – Durst, manufacturer of innovative digital printing systems and software solutions, has announced that LabelPrint OÜ has successfully completed beta testing of its new single-pass UV inkjet digital Tau RSCi Label Press. The investment from the label-making company from Tallinn, Estonia, is a key part of a strategy to move medium and long run flexo jobs to digital UV inkjet printing.

In a continuing trustful relationship, LabelPrint OÜ provided extremely valuable inputs to Durst that have now been incorporated into the Tau RSCi platform, which is now starting full commercial production. Results of the extensive collaboration will be shared at an online event, headlined “All you need is RSC”, on June 15 at 10.00 and 17.00 CEST. Making money while sleeping – Durst’s printing revolution for Digipress

Didcot, Oxfordshire – 13.05.2021 – Innovative and forward-thinking company Digipress has revolutionized its business after an investment in an expanded technology P5 350 hybrid platform from Durst, manufacturer of innovative digital printing systems and software solutions. The all-in-one hybrid solution for flexible roll and board printing has been a godsend, according to partner Steve Jackson who says they are now ‘making money while they sleep’ thanks to unattended overnight printing.

“Since the machine arrived, we have an unbelievable amount of orders that we would not have been able to fulfil without the Durst P5,” said Steve. “It’s a machine that is extremely versatile and we are running it at very high speed with great quality and productivity. The opportunities have come in thick and fast because everybody wants fast turnarounds.

“Quite frankly, I didn’t think there was a better machine out there than what we had before, but that meant 4-pass printing to achieve the required quality. However, the Durst has proved me wrong and does the jobs in a single pass at even better quality at super-fast speeds. We have known Durst for a long time and thought it may be out of our price range, but when we saw what it could produce we just said, ‘we’ve got to have one, no questions’. We’re glad we made the investment.”

As an example of one of the many orders won on the strength of having the Durst P5 350, Steve says that they won a significant contract to print on to clear roofing sheets for use as table dividers in restaurants. When upwards of 1,000 sheets may be needed in a matter of days, only the Durst P5 can deliver the volumes required, particularly when some jobs can be printed overnight. “Unattended printing has been a huge thing for our business,” said Steve. “We can leave the machine printing overnight. It’s making us money while we sleep! This machine has been a godsend and a revolution for our business. It just eats up the materials.”

The software and high levels of automation has also been an important additional benefit, particularly while some of Digipress’s 23-strong staff were furloughed during the pandemic. “We can set it up and somebody who is not a trained print operator can run the P5,” said Steve. “I could teach somebody to run this machine within around 20 minutes.”

Digipress is run by Steve and business partner Ian Fitzgerald, who set it up 15 years ago. The company offers a complete range of print and design services from its base in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Durst P5 TEX iSUB – a milestone for sublimation printing

Bressanone, Italy, 29.04.2021 – Durst, manufacturer of innovative digital printing systems and software solutions, is setting a milestone in the field of sublimation printing with the launch of the P5 TEX iSUB. The abbreviation iSUB stands for “inline sublimation.” This eliminates individual work steps, resulting in a significant increase in quality and efficiency for the user.

The soft signage market is experiencing enormous growth rates in all areas of application – from visual communication and decor to textile clothing. In the period from 2017 to 2023, the sales volume will increase by more than 60 percent, according to a forecast by Keypoint Intelligence. Converted to absolute figures, the market will grow globally from around $19.2 billion in 2019 to $31.4 billion (2023).

A number of trends can be pinpointed for this continued growth, which clearly speak in favor of the soft signage market. These include environmental friendliness through the use of water-based, odorless inks. In tune with these trends in the soft signage market, Durst has developed the P5 TEX iSUB, which is based on the successful P5 platform with a maximum print width of 3.3 meters. At the heart of the Durst P5 TEX iSUB is the integrated inline fusing for direct printing on polyester fabrics. The advantages of this one-step process are obvious, explains Andrea Riccardi, Head of Product Management, Durst Group AG: “No investment and no floor space is required for a calender. The Durst P5 TEX iSUB is operated by only one operator, and the process acceleration also increases our customers’ ability to deliver.” Whereby the P5 TEX iSUB is not limited to direct printing, but transfer papers can also be printed and further processed in the usual way. It is precisely the combination of both processes in one system that gives users enormous flexibility.

Innovation iSUB – contactless fixing technology

The Sublifix dye sublimation ink developed by Durst delivers vivid colors, even on difficult media such as blackback or backlit for light boxes or flags. A unique feature of the P5 Text iSUB is its innovative contactless fusing. The iSUB contactless technology ensures excellent color consistency as well as extreme sharpness of detail in images and text, also blurring or bleeding of color is virtually eliminated.

A wide range of applications can be implemented with the P5 TEX iSUB. One example is decorative fabrics with strong, brilliant colors and exact reproduction of details. Another are flags that show good print on both sides of the material even without external calendaring. Blackback applications as well as colorful light boxes round out the spectrum while retaining the soft-touch feel. In all these applications, the Durst RIP plays a central role, ensuring consistent color across all media.

The maximum print speed is 383 m2/hour when the 330 cm print format is fully utilized, inspiring the efficient implementation of all these application examples. Access to two rolls via the Multiroll option makes changing materials much easier in practice. In addition, the Dualroll option allows two rolls with a width of 1.6 meters to be printed. Another outstanding feature of the Durst P5 TEX is the integrated finishing unit, which can be used to sew and stitch media.

Test under practical conditions

The Durst P5 TEX iSUB is currently undergoing field testing at the Italian ABS Group, which has a long-standing partnership with the Durst Group and has been working with a Rhotex 500 and Rhotex 325 for many years. Παγκόσμιο Βραβείο της Wagner Prestige Labels για την ετικέτα Tau Truce Wine

Η Αυστραλιανή επιχείρηση Wagner Prestige Labels κέρδισε το πρώτο βραβείο στα International Durst RSC Label Awards, σε παγκόσμιο ανταγωνισμό σε ζωντανή διαδικτυακή εκδήλωση.

Τα βραβεία ήταν μέρος της Παρουσίασης των Ψηφιακών Ημερών Durst (Durst Digital Days Presentation) που μεταδόθηκαν ζωντανά από το Durst Campus στο Brixen Italy.

Ο Matt Ashman, Διευθύνων Σύμβουλος της Durst Oceania είπε: «Συγχαρητήρια στον John Galea και την ομάδα στη Wagner. Είναι ένα τεράστιο αποτέλεσμα. Ο ανταγωνισμός ήταν δυνατός αλλά η ποιότητα της εργασίας ήταν εξαιρετική».

Η Wagner Prestige Labels κατέλαβε την κατηγορία συνδυασμένης εκτύπωσης RSC για την ετικέτα κρασιού Truce Wine of Australia. Η ετικέτα εκτυπώθηκε με τέσσερα χρώματα στο νέο inkjet πιεστήριο ετικετών Durst Tau 330 RSC E της εταιρείας, στo υλικό Avery’s Estate 8 και ολοκληρώθηκε με μεταξοτυπία με μαύρο, βερνίκι και τοπικό ανάγλυφο.

Μιλώντας στον ιστότοπο Print21 ο John Galea, διευθύνων σύμβουλος της επιχείρησης στο Wetherill Park, είπε: «Η ποιότητα που επιτυγχάνουμε με την εκτύπωση Durst inkjet 1200 x 1200dpi είναι αξιοσημείωτη. Νομίζω ότι οι κριτές σίγουρα εντυπωσιάστηκαν με τις λεπτομέρειες στα τριαντάφυλλα και με το φινίρισμα.

«Το κρασί είναι ένα πάθος μου, ασχολούμαι με την εκτύπωση κρασιού για 25 χρόνια, καταλαβαίνω τις απαιτήσεις. Ενώ αποτελεί μόνο το 5% της δουλειάς μας, είναι ένας σημαντικός τομέας για εμάς».

Η Wagner Prestige Labels παράγει τώρα το ένα τρίτο των ετικετών της στο νέο της πιεστήριο Durst και απολαμβάνει δραματικά μειωμένα επίπεδα φύρας. Εγκατέστησε το Tau 330 RSC E πριν από ένα χρόνο, μαζί με εξοπλισμό φινιρίσματος.

Τα θέματα κάλυψαν την ολοκλήρωση των beta δοκιμών του Tau RSCi, τις λύσεις Durst RSC Low Migration (με μελάνια Χαμηλής Μετανάστευσης) και την υβριδική παραγωγή ετικετών.

Η επιλογή από την εταιρία Wagner της τεχνολογίας Durst RSC βασίστηκε στην ταχύτητα, την ποιότητα και τις περιβαλλοντικές πτυχές. «Αποφασίσαμε να αυξήσουμε την ψηφιακή απόδοση του χρώματος στο υψηλότερο δυνατό επίπεδο, και το Durst Tau 330 RSC E ανταποκρίθηκε με επιτυχία», δήλωσε ο John Galea, διευθύνων σύμβουλος της Wagner Prestige Labels, με έδρα το Wetherill Park του Σίδνεϋ.

«Σε έξι μόνο μήνες πραγματικά ανταποκρίθηκε στις προσδοκίες, σε σημείο που η ψηφιακή εκτύπωση είναι τώρα μεταξύ 30 και 35 τοις εκατό της επιχείρησής μας.

«Ένα άλλο σημαντικό πλεονέκτημα είναι ότι η φύρα μειώθηκε σημαντικά, με τα ελεγχόμενα μέτρα στο Durst Tau 330 RSC E να υπάρχει η δυνατότητα ακόμη και να επιστραφούν και να εκτυπωθούν. Η φύρα είναι ένα μεγάλο ζήτημα για εκτυπωτές ετικετών, ειδικά με τις πολλαπλές εκδόσεις, οπότε οτιδήποτε μπορούμε να κάνουμε για να τη μειώσουμε είναι καλό για το περιβάλλον».

Ο Helmuth Munter, διευθυντής του Τμήματος Ετικέτας και Εύκαμπτης Συσκευασίας της Durst, δήλωσε: «Η πλατφόρμα Tau RSC αλλάζει θεαματικά τους όρους του παιχνιδιού για εμάς ως εταιρεία και για όλους τους πελάτες μας. Έχοντας αυτό κατά νου, προκαλέσαμε τους πελάτες να συμμετάσχουν στα βραβεία Durst RSC Label Masters. Υπήρξε ένας εντυπωσιακός αριθμός συμμετοχών. Όλες οι συμμετοχές ήταν εμπνευσμένες, δυσκολεύοντας τους κριτές να επιλέξουν τους νικητές».

Ακόμη μία σημαντική εγκατάσταση DURST Tau RSC στην Τουρκία

Η LinoSistem, μέλος του ομίλου LinoGroup, προμηθευτής προηγμένων τεχνολογιών ψηφιακής εκτύπωσης και παραγωγής, ανακοίνωσε ότι η εταιρεία BEB ETIKET, με έδρα τη Σμύρνη, επένδυσε στο σύστημα ψηφιακής UV-InkJet εκτύπωσης ετικέτας DURST Tau 330 RSC για να μεταβεί στην ψηφιακή παραγωγή.

Η BEB Etiket ιδρύθηκε το 2017 στη Σμύρνη από την κα Berrin KURTULUS. Η κα Berrin έχει πάνω από είκοσι χρόνια εμπειρίας στη βιομηχανία παραγωγής ετικετών. Η BEB Etiket προσφέρει στους πελάτες της υπηρεσίες υψηλής ποιότητας ετικετών και συσκευασιών, συμπεριλαμβανομένων και υπηρεσιών παραγωγής με προστιθέμενη αξία, όπως μεταξοτυπία, χρυσοτυπία και ανάγλυφο.
